Archbishop
Williams High School believes in the words of Helen Keller,
who said, “Alone we can do so little; together we
can do so much.” In the interest of strengthening
Catholic education at all levels of our region, Archbishop
Williams invited area elementary schools, whose graduates
attend Archbishop Williams High School, to form an educational
alliance with AWHS.
On
Thursday, January 15, at a ceremony attended by the Superintendent
of Schools and hosted by Carmen Mariano, Ed. D, President
of AWHS, and Mrs. Mary Lou Sadowski, the school’s
Principal, Fr. Casey, our Pastor, and Mrs. Simmons, our
Principal, formally enrolled St. Agatha School in the
newly formed Archbishop Williams High School Educational
Alliance. It was an inspiring, motivating moment.
On
Thursday, February 11, Dr Mariano presented the banner
to Fr. Casey and Mrs Simmons.
As
a member, St. Agatha School students will be eligible
for an additional scholarship in the name of the alliance.
Graduates who choose to attend Archbishop Williams High
School will be offered summer prep courses in English
and Math prior to the start of their freshman year. Teachers
will be welcome to attend any AWHS seminar, workshop or
other professional development activity. Members of alliance
schools will receive passes to attend any Archbishop Williams
events, and will also have access to AWHS facilities for
school sponsored activities, and much more.
We
are most grateful to the administration and faculty of
AWHS for their invitation to join with them to support
and enrich Catholic education in our region by sponsoring
this alliance. We look forward in hope to our participation
in the alliance, which will help us all “build bridges
to talents and treasures and plant the seeds of success”
for our students, so that they may continue to “appreciate
differences, foster friendships, and grow scholastically,
socially and spiritually.”
Archbishop
Williams High School and St. Agatha School have become
members of the same TEAM. We share a common belief that
is best expressed on the banner which adorns our school
gym:
Together Everyone Achieves
More.
