Catholic
Schools Week
Dividends
for Life
This
is a presentation by Cornelius Koch at the 9AM Mass on
Sunday, January 31st |
Catholic schools teach you Faith, Knowledge, Discipline,
and Morals. These four
topics are what catholic schools are all about. Students
use faith, knowledge, discipline,
and morals without even knowing it. This not only comes
from home but it comes from
our teachers, they work daily to instill these beliefs
in us. The first is faith every day we
are given the chance to pray with Morning Prayer. We
are able to ask God to help us
with the knowledge that we gain during our day. Next
we use discipline to go through
the day to get our work done and to behave and respect
others around us.
The last topic and one of the most important
besides faith is morals. When we
enter Catholic school as young children we have started
to learn right from wrong from
our parents. This is now where we learn the teachings
of God on a daily basis. We do
this by helping others in our school and our parishes.
Setting a good example for others
lets them know how important living a good honest life
is.
These beliefs are not just taught to help
at the moment but throughout our lives. The
four words will leave a great impact on my future because
they are a privilege that you
can only benefit from. For example, you can benefit from
it in the future by getting a
good job, and getting into a good college and practicing
our faith and always know that
God will get you through whatever life gives you. We are
a strong caring school that
puts Faith, Knowledge, Discipline, and Morals first. Because
of my Catholic school
education I know I am and will be a better person no matter
where life brings me.
God works through many people our teachers,
priest, families, but God has chosen
many special people to help spread his word. Writing this
paper a few people come to
mind Mother Teresa of Calcutta, Gandhi, and Martin Luther
King. All of these great
people had one thing in common they believed in Faith,
Knowledge, Discipline, and
Morals. They may not have been of the same religion but
shared in their love for God.
Mother Teresa said "We are all carriers of God's
love." Gandhi and Martin Luther king
fought for the same things just different times. Freedom
and equal rights and because
of this I am able to have a better life and a good education
in a Catholic School.
Faith,
knowledge, discipline, and morals to me are something
that is special and it
can only bring you to greatness. These four words fall
under Dividends for life and that is why I will succeed
with "Catholic Schools Dividends for Life."
