Legos Club |
With over 65 students in grades K-2 the children have met after school each Wednesday in the cafeteria since January. Their talents are amazing with the creations they build each week. Some use the kits and build step by step while others go freestyle and let their imaginations guide them. The success of running such a large club each week lies mostly with the children and the parent volunteers. The children are so well behaved and enjoy their playtime with legos, and the parents who volunteer each week are instrumental in helping the children as well as keeping us on schedule. At the end of each class the children either break down their legos and return them to their appropriate color coded boxes or they place their masterpieces into a bag, put their name on it and place it in the bin so that they can reclaim it easily the following week and continue to work on it. We have 4 more weeks of Lego Club and will finish up just in time for Spring. We can always use more parent volunteers, so stop on by to help out or build something! Thanks to Mrs. Carol Whalen and Mr. Tom Cullinane for their time and talents for the club. |
