Walk for SMA

October 28, 2011

Thank you to all who worked so diligently to make last Friday’s Walk for SMA such a great event. Special thanks must be extended to Mrs. Michelle Tierney, who coordinated this special mission drive for our school. Because of the efforts of the Farrell family, Mr. Bob Sweeney of the Boston Bruins Foundation graciously signed autographs for the children, who were seeking them even as Mr. Sweeney was trying to get into his car at the end of the day! Mr. Sweeney kicked off our walk with an announcement that the Foundation would donate $2500.00 to our SMA drive. “Blades,” the Bruins mascot, the official Bruins car and pictures with the championship ring, made the day even more exciting for our student walkers. Ms. Katelyn McEvoy led students in dancing exercises throughout the day. Her tremendous energy kept everyone moving and engaged from start to finish of our walk.
