On March 8th the annual Social Studies Fair was held At St. Agatha School. As in past years a wonderful array of projects were displayed by our seventh and eighth grade students.

However, one project was so  unique that it received special recognition. Rachel Bargoot, an eighth grade student selected for her research the History of the Union Oyster House. Rachel delved into the origins of this famous restaurant, and traced the roots of this building from its Colonial beginnings to the present day eatery into which it has evolved.

For her outstanding scholarship on this project, Rachel received an award from the Union Oyster House on Friday March 23rd. Also she was treated to a wonderful lunch, met the head chef, Mr. Warren Frank, and was able to sit in the “Kennedy Booth” which is reserved for dignitaries, celebrities, and other important persons.

Rachel thoroughly enjoyed her trip to this historic restaurant in downtown Boston. St. Agatha School is very proud of Rachel’s accomplishment.
