Recently several sixth grade students and 2 seventh grade students had their poetry selected to be published in a book of poetry called Creative Communications.

The students worked on poems in Mrs. Sullivan’s History class. Many students entered the contest sponsored by Creative Communications. Creative Communicatons has been working with schools and teachers in promoting writing for over 15 years. They offer this contest to reward and recognize good and creative writing.

We had 2 seventh grade students who won this year. This is exciting because this is the second time that these 2 students were published. They had the honor of being published last year as well. We would like to congratulate Jackie Montminy and Julie Montminy.

We are very proud of all the students who entered the contest. However the following sixth grade students were chosen as superior and will be published. We congratulate Elizabeth McNulty, Ian Halliday, Ella Biemer, Kristen Fahey,
Alex Curley, Aileen Farrell, Hanna Heffler, Elly Vaughn, Kevin Thimotee, Rachel Bargoot, and Jordan Simpson.

Poetry is a wonderful expression of yourself, but it can also depict events in history in a real and powerful way. We encourage all students to plunge into poetry and enjoy!
